The Beach at Sunset

Living Room of new Moraya Bay model by Renee Gaddis Interiors

Naples sunsets are famous, and so remarkably that residents favorite place in their home is to take a seat on their terrace as the sun slowly sinks into the sea. This model by Renee Gaddis Interiors was recently designed for exactly that.

Taking a breather from the colors that are so commonly used down here of sand, sky and water, we did a fresh take of rust, terracotta and grey with accents of gold. Oh yes, my friends…gold is back.

Hand Crafted Bookbinding. A Forgotten Art.

There is the age old saying “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover”, I think I may have to disagree…..

Hand Crafted bookbinding is an art form that dates back to the Fifteenth Century when Guttenberg set up the first printing presses. Since then, not much has changed throughout history and fortunately this tradition still exists in some rare workshops scattered throughout the world. As you know, I am heading to Italy and cannot wait to visit the Cartoleria Pantheon Stationery Shop in Rome. They will bind anything I bring to them on the spot and have a very quick turn around so I will be able to take my new, customized books home with me.

Not heading to Rome anytime soon? The Plaza hotel in New York houses the Assouline Bookbindery where they also use these centuries-old techniques. This picture was featured in Architectural Digest showing all the beautiful vibrant colored leather and the artisan, Paul Vogel.

Fall Interior Design Trends

With fall here, many Naples and Bonita Springs residents are looking to refresh their spaces with some of the latest styles.  This October, the Renee Gaddis Interiors team will be traveling to the High Point Furniture Market seeking out the best of the best for our clients.

Look for RGI Blog updates about these key trends:

Green, Green, Green

Companies like Selva (picture courtesy of) are using water-based paints and stains on their furniture to eliminate harmful chemicals and off-gas.

Everyone talks about going green these days but it now it is finally reaching the mainstream.  Major manufactures will be showcasing their latest innovations on this important trend.

Bedrooms With Flair

Legacy Linens (picture courtesy of) has bright new bedding. Check out this one that I am using in my upcoming model.

It used to be the bedroom was low on the priority list when it came to designing a space, but with today’s continued trends in Florida’s open floor plans, clients want these spaces to make a statement.  Expect bold new colors, curves and accents to make these spaces remarkable.

Retro Chic

Old is new again and many furniture designers are taking cues from classic designs while adding modern-day manufacturing techniques and colors to make these styles great again.  RGI will be taking photos and posting what we love and why we love them.
